General set out of a clue.
A cryptic clue is generally made up of two parts. One part is a straight synonym of the word you are looking for. The other part is the cryptic clue that is one of the types of clues we will be talking about each week. The straight clue can come at the beginning or end of the whole clue. It can be one word, two words, three words and so on and in fact the straight clue can be the entire clue.

The straight clue could be for example
- That is.

The answer is "Tome" (Which means big book)
