Wordplay

Definition

These clues are where you answer too literally.  They are often involving a twist of your brain to get the answer.  They are like jokes.  Very similar to the double meaning clues.

Triggers

  • None.  (But the lack of triggers is a clue in itself)

Example

These people swear a lot while in the dock. (10) (2 stars)



Extremes

Definition

You use the first and last bits of words to make the answer.  Often used in bits and pieces clues.

Triggers

  • Extremes
  • Outskirts
  • Outside

Example

When you have outside tips you get in a state. (3) (1 Star)
